Hi everyone! If you have been following me for any length of time you know the last years have been rough. Rough for everyone I know but I have also had some small personal setbacks. This year I have so many exciting ideas and I want to make sure I get back on the horse. Like many when Covid hit you really have to think of what you want out of life and what you want your life to look like. I want to teach nature journaling, nature appreciation, and ecology principles. As Sylvester Stallone would say (one of my father's favorites) "“It's not about how hard you hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward."
In the recent past I don't think I understood what I was really after. I spread myself too thin. I love making art but what really, really makes me happy is teaching journaling and sketching in nature. Being out in nature with like minded people. So this year my goal is to expand our tribe, do more workshops, I plan on going to the zoo to sketch, museums of natural history, etc. ( I will still go to places that are free as well I think art is for everyone). I plan on more video content but not just about sketching, but about Florida's unique ecosystems. What makes Florida....well Florida. I so hope you will go along on this journey with me. While I believe everyday is a new day to change your life, New Years does bring a sense of hope, new beginnings, and fresh starts. If you have been with me since the beginning thank you so much for sticking with me and giving me hope that all of this is worth it. If you have just found me, welcome and get ready for a fun year!
So happy to hear from you! Please know that ever since I met you on a nature guided trip at Weedon Island you have inspired me, and I have taken some drawing classes so that I could nature journal. I am so glad you are back, my heartfelt hugs for what you have been through and I know that this year WILL be a better year and getting back into nature journaling can be so healing. Looking forward to the next nature hike, keep in touch. ps. love the gopher tortoise. Sue Ellen
