When was the last time someone actually asked you that? Even better what was the last time you felt like some one would listen? Ok so maybe I can't help you with the million dollars and a house beach side that you just asked for but what can I do to make this group better for you? I started this years ago and at the time I had a toddler and a new job. Since then I have decided I really want to make this a bigger part of my life. Raising a child in a world where many have lost their connection to nature has made me want to invest more time in connecting people with nature.
Here is a bit more about me. I have a full time job as an ecologist. I have also been an artist for years and I just wanted a way to meet like minded folks and help them see all the wonder and magic I see when I go outside. Even if it is one tree on a city block I guarantee there is a lot to learn. I am taking a couple of short courses through Cornell so I can become better at this endeavor. I know in the past my problem has been consistency. While that has never been my strong suit I am at a place in my life where I can spend more time on this BUT I need your help.
What do you want? What would you like to see? I am 100% open to ideas. I want this to be something that you find meaningful and worth your time. I know this is a broad question but since this is not my full time job I want to make sure any energy I put into this is pushing me towards my goals and yours.
Please feel free to let me know, I really want to hear you input. Together we can make this better.
I don't have a specific idea yet. I'm just enjoying the journey so far. Each time we gather you point out a new technique that I try to follow: zoom in-zoom out, contour or comparison. I like learning to see nature with new eyes while sketching and adding notes to attempt at a field guide presentation.
Thanks for the lessons. If I think of a new direction, Ill let you know.
