One of the questions I get regularly is how to I get better at drawing. The easy answer is practice...but without prompts sometimes people get stuck. Inktober to the rescue!! Jake Parker created Inktober in 2009 as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits. It has since grown into a worldwide endeavor with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. I have participated in the last 5 years. Last year I participated in Sciartober. This year there is also a prompt for nature journaling provided by the amazing journaler Marley Peifer! Which ever you choose to use just try to stay consistent! While it is INKtober if you don't want to start in ink do your preliminary sketch in pencil, then use ink after. It is great practice but most of all HAVE FUN!!! This is for practice. Lastly feel free to tag me in it with the hashtag #CNAInktober even is you are doing other prompts. I will be uploading mine on Instagram and Facebook! I would love to see your work!
